Film Care and Maintenance
At Xlnt Tint
we are committed to protecting you and your loved ones from the harmful
elements of the sun. And in doing so we would like to point out some
care and maintenance instructions for your window film.
To obtain the
maximum life from your new window film the following instructions should
be followed:
Cleaning
Please do not clean your window for approximately 30 days after the
installation. This will help secure the proper curing of the special
mounting adhesive to the glass. There are no restrictions on what type
of window cleaner you may use. Any solution acceptable including ammonia,
vinegar, and alcohol.

Cleaning
Solutions
Most glass cleaners will work well although a good economical cleaning
solution for window film is ½ ounce of liquid dish soap added
to 1 quart of fresh water. We also recommend Sprayaway and Invisible
Glass which can be purchased at any location.
-
Cleaning Materials
Always use fresh clean soft materials to wash and dry you window film
surfaces. A soft cloth or a clean synthetic sponge is recommended
for washing the window film followed by a another clean soft cloth
or soft rubber squeegee for drying. To avoid scratching the film do:
do not use bristle brushes, abrasive scrubbing sponges, or any cleaning
materials that may have been contaminated with dirt particles as is
commonly the case when washing the interior and exterior windows with
the same cleaning materials. Some brands of paper towels are coarse
enough to put fine scratches in the film, even our films with a protective
hard coat finish. While these scratches may be too thin to be seen
at the beginning, they can damage the polished look of the film over
time.

Automotive Clients
-
Please do not roll down any windows that have been filmed for at
least 48 hours. If your vehicle was done in a cold or inclement
weather please add 24 hours.
-
Attachment Clients (Non Wet Glaze)
-
Please use the same care as the window film.
-
Attachment Clients (Wet Glaze)
-
Please do not touch or clean your wet glaze attachment for at least
30 days. This will allow proper curing and complete bonding
throughout the bead. To clean the wet glaze please use the same care
as the window film.
